Hero: CF Progress

Progress is moving along nicely on Carnivac's Hero: Celestial Force. With several different enemy types working properly, including the airborne Reavers, Cannon Troopers, and Wall Turrets, things are looking pretty spiffy.

My part is basically helping with the coding, enemy AI, fleshing out the game systems, and other fancy stuff like that.

The game has joypad support, and will be fully customisable, though it will come with predefined settings for PC, Xbox360, and Playstation controllers. The game definitely plays best when you're using a controller, as the character's movement and attacking are both 8-way and independent of each other. The joypad I mentioned in my last post I actually got just so I could playtest this game, and it was totally worth it.

Today I got...

A scanner. So you can expect a lot more artwork from me in the months to come. Also, I got a gaming controller for both testing and playing purposes, because playing games with a controller is almost always more fun than using the keyboard.

Anyhow, here's my first scan. Colored in GIMP.

Easter Weekend...

It's the long weekend now.

Sorry for the lack of recent updates; I ended up going on a rather unscheduled vacation to visit my family, and ended up (once again) visiting for over a week when I'd originally planned just to visit for a couple days.

Anyhow, I'll be back in a couple days, and you can expect lots of progress on pretty much everything I'm working on. I've got big (BIG) plans for this summer, and I gotta have myself good and ready.

Happy Easter to all you fellow Canadians out there, and a happy weekend to the rest!
